The Waitakere City Orchestra plays an important role in the cultural landscape of West Auckland by providing quality orchestral music in local venues and we enjoy a loyal community following and support.
We are particularly grateful for financial help from Waitakere City Council, the ASB Community Trust and Creative Communities and the Perry Foundation.
Without that assistance we would be unable to stage our concerts. Those major contributions however do not meet all of our costs.
The WCO Board regrets to announce that due to a major funding shortage the orchestra is currently in recess while we attempt to rebuild our budget. We are looking for an experienced person to assist with the search for sponsorship. This would be voluntary to begin with but in the event of a successful outcome the position would be paid and ongoing.
